Camp Week 7: A Crazy kids week.
This past week was grueling.
So anyway, this was our infamous kids week. And they well full of energy. We played a lot of sports this week.
So I had my deaf camper again, like last year. This year, one of our other campers was an interpreter for him. So I still had a lot of help like before.
If that's where I really needed it.
Some of those kids just didn't listen. And some wouldn't go to bed at night.
Exhausting!
But we still did a lot of fun stuff. On Tuesday, I planned a field trip to the Carnegie Science Center. But it was adjusted to go to the CSC branch "SportsWorks" instead. But it was still a lot of fun. Zach, AMber, DOris and I went, and with the campers (that I picked to go) we raced, played abstract miniture golf. rode simulated roller coasters, I rode a high cycls, which was scary. So it was fun.
Anyhow, dances and hayrides went on well at camp. Then Thursday we had "Raeann's Race". There in three teams, we played water tee ball, kicked soccer balls, went down another slip-n-slide, and had fun with that. Then there was the grand finale, involving one staff from each team. I wanted to volunteer for it, but Cristin, who was on my team, beat me to it. Anyhow, she, Mitch, and Erika, were blindfolded and made into human ice cream sundaes, unaware of what was being dumped on them. But we had chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup, cherries, butterscotch, whipped cream, and it was all over them.
Wow!
Week 7 Winners:
Robert Dubs
Zach Hill
Cristin Leahy
Lauren "Aussie" Pinfold
(Also the guy who was interpereter for my deaf camper was on out team. For confidentiality reasons, his name is not printed here.)
Then we again went to the dance in the Kon-o-Kwee dining hall. Fun! Lots of music, refreshments, and dancing there.
But due to the lack of sleep I got, (I had three sleep duties, and a camp out night), I was quite exhausted by the time the week was over.
Two more to go...
