Camp Week 2: Losers, Winners, and CD's.

OK, Week 2 down.

Before camp, I attended another party at Matt Puntureri's place in Wampum. I made a bunch of CD's first of all, with music that I like, but don't hear too often. That took a long time too, because it was midnight when I finished.

Then I played a round of beer pong with Matt's brother, Nathan. And I lost. Of course.

Later I fell asleep, because I had to go to camp.

So here's a recap of the past week.

I had four guys. One was more dependant than the others, but still not too bad.
Sure, four inventories is murder, but I had my CD's to listen to.

Sunday, we had Raeann's race. Our team did stuff, and in the race, my one camper and I kicked butt in the wheelbarrow race.

New to these camp stories. The winners of Raeann's Race.

Winning Team:
Amber Atkinson
Robert Dubs
Heather Orton

So, they were also nice enough to move the dance to Tuesday, so I could be there. (I can't be there Monday and Wednesday evenings) However, due to problems with the CD player all we did was listen to the radio.

Boring.

Then, I actually got to go camping on top of the hill. Lauren "Aussie" Pinfold, and I went. However, two of the campers spied on us during after hours. Also, driving that eight passenger down that hill is murder.

So that's a wrap of this week.

Camp Week 1: A Chillier Gereatric Week

One week of camp down...

So, here's how it went...

First of all, there was the Pre-camp training.

It went the same as usual. We got training on all the aspects of camp. You know, you know. Several new oounselors including a girl whom I was friends with in high school: Amber Atkinson. We even did musicals in high school together. There is one new guy: Justin Brown. He's cool, but much younger, than Mitch, Zach and Myself. Several other ladies too.

This year, we did do that drill I had been dying to do. I got Justin exactly, the same way Jake Feits had gotten me two years ago, playing the same camper he had played. Cristen, Nicole, Mitch, Zach, and Fred played bad campers too.

Wow.

I am also officially a cart driver. Something I had let slide through my first year, but really started to want badly, last year. But I gave my first Kon-o-Kwee cart tour this year.

Great!

Anyhow, the weather this week was much cooler than past gereatric weeks I remember from the past. The past ones, were deathly hot. Unfortunatly as a result of the cooler temperatures, and older campers, there was no swimming this week. I didn't even make it to the pre-camp swim, because of my stupid Summer courses. Two good things about that though:

1. The water was deathly cold.
2. Not being there, I had no chance of drowning anybody.

Still, despite that and rough sleep duty, and another mishappening here and there, this was a pretty good week. Now, I'm at home, re-studying sign language. That deaf camper, from last year, is coming Week 7, and this year, I'm on my own with him. Andrea's gone for good, and I'm not sure Jess will be there either.

Well, until next time.

Pre-camp Summer

Ok, here's a summary of what's been going on lately.

These past few weeks have been busy, but semi dull. But I have managed to squeeze in a little bit of fun.

Examples:

Back in February/March, my mother and I got a new dog named Max. He is a Chug (Half Chihuahua, Half Pug), and I have gone a lot of places with him. We go on car rides, I've taken him to the pet store, once to a Curb Service Restaruant in Bridgewater and even to Moraine State Park, where we hiked a trail I had hikes on a Camp Field Trip last year.

About a week ago, after two weeks of hell cleaning the place up and breaking, and getting stuck, much machenery in doing so, I had a party/picnic at my house. Camp friends, Mitch, Zach, Jess, Rachael, Becky, Phil, Celeste, Nicole and Jared all showed up. Despite the weather being semi-crummy, we had a good time with the party.
We looked at horses, Zach and Jared tried to get my football stuck in a tree, and we bs'd. It was a good time.

Now, I'm getting ready for my third Summer at Camp Arc Spencer. I hope it's a good one. I go tomorrow, for the Pre-camp training. I hope if we do the lunch drill we did two years ago, I get to play a camper. I'm a 3rd year counselor, so I should.

Well, untill next time...
