Pittsburgh North Musical Showcase

Tonight, QCHS helped restore an old theatre.

The Strand theatre, located in Zelienople, PA, is an old theatre shut down in the 1980's, now being restored.

Anyhow, the event, took place at Pine-Richland High School. High Schools from around the area, gathered together to perform a portion of their musical for an audience. And the prodeeds went to the the Strand Theatre.

Quigley Catholic did two incerpts from "Into the Woods". the first was "Hello Little Girl" with Gwen Gorski and myself doing our old song and dance. later on Laura Fischer did "Last Midnight" from Act Two.

Other incerpts included "State Fair", "South Pacific", "Guys and Dolls", "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Footloose". "Footloose's" "I'm Free" was my favorite. Oh, I hope I can be in Footloose someday.

So that's if for now. Mancinis are in about a month. We'll do some more of our show then, too.

It's Raining on my Prom Night

Before I go on, let me give a quote from a previous post.

At QCHS it is recommended that you get a date for the semi or prom AT LEAST three monthes in advance.

Well, I forgot that again, and once again had no date for the prom.

Damn!

I could have gone as the photographer, but i decided that that was too cheap, and that I didn't wish to do that again.

So, I took pictures at the Grand March. Some of those couples I couldn't even look at. Then I gave the camera to Emily Mitko and went home almost in tears.

Now, everybody else is at the Embassy Suites, and I'm at home sulking. I should have just asked Whitney O'Brien, even if she does have another boyfriend.

Well, see ya later...

Uncommon Sense: Issue 7:

The seventh issue of Uncommon Sense is in:

In this issue there is a story about Mr. Driscoll's six new grandchildren. I wrote a long article about "Into the Woods" and its progress. brendon Miller wrote a critique about it. Both of us mentioned the sweltering auditorium.

120 Degrees in there. I'm not kidding.

I also had an editorial about the overuse of cell-phones. Basically that was my Lit. Essay, turned editorial.

The QOM was:

What movie do you think should be made into a musical?

The answers were:

Evan Marcavage: Trainspotting
Chris Borneo: Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Vanessa Schonechizny: The Goonies
Rich Harvan: The Texas Chainsaw Massacure
Max Sudak: Godzilla
Shiana Scialabba: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
David Renner: Girls Gone Wild
Mike Klaiber: Fear and Loathing in las Vegas

Only a few more issues left to go... See ya later.
