A visit to the Fedko Zone

This past week was Catholic Schools week.

Usually a lot goes on during this particular week, but this week, due to the snow, and the delays/closings of Quigley, we had a minimum amount of activities planned.

Thursday was the one day this week, that something happened. The guys and girls had a guest speaker(s) each. For the guys, it was none other than WPXI Channel 11 sportscaster John Fedko himself.

Mr. Fedko and a priest from St. Alphonsus, (But I never knew him), spoke about the priesthood, and about joining. I don't know if anybody is actually going to be a priest, but it was still nice to listen to him.

So, despite the week getting snowed out, Fedko did give us some food for thought.

Diosesian Honors Chorus

Today, I sang in the Diosesian Honors Chorus and Band.

Located at Canavin High School/St. Paul's Seminary in Greentree, this was a grouping of the lead singers and players, from each Catholic High School in the Diosese.

Accomponayed by Lena Gail Dowdell, and Karlie Andino, I sang in the chorus. While there I ran into two aquaintances from St. Alphonsus, and one from St. Gregory's. From St Al's, Jack Carroll, who had been in classes with me (but we didn't really like each other), and Peter Fill (we played clarinets in the band.), and from St. Greg's, Vicky Bucek, who sang with me in the Children's Choir there.

Anyhow, the day went by with much rehearsal, and running through songs. The songs themselves, were relatively easy, but some were, what I call tenor-torture, becuase of the highness the tenors had to go. But I got through them.

Finally the night came, and wel all performed and we did well. The audience liked it, and there will be a CD coming out soon.

Untill next time...

Uncommon Sense Issue 4:

The next Issue of Uncommon Sense is out.

This one featured Some of my best news photography so far, at the Christmas Semi. I got a picture of Mr. Gorwick etting jiggly on the dance floor, and of Kevin Cappatt and Joe Mittica singing "Ice, Ice, Baby", and some girls doing the Locomotion, and some other nice pictures.

The QOM was:

What is the worst Christmas gift Santa ever gave you?

Answers Included:
Laura McAllister: Ten Pounds
John Bautti: Nair
Luke Schulli: My brother
Tim Bryner: The Flu
Tyree Scialabba and Jeremy Porter: Santa doesn't even exist, fool!
Mrs. Yanyanin: A dishwasher
Andrew Macurak: Underwear and Socks
Sophomore Girls: Chris Borneo

Well, that's all for now.

Until next time...
